About Me

The main question usually is how did I get into trading stocks; here is the background story.

At the ripe age of 21 I was about to finish my 2 year program in my Health and Fitness. I was very interested in the program when I started my 2 years, primarily because it was the only course I could see myself doing since it could be related to basketball. But towards the end of the program I had lost interest in it. Not that I lost interest in fitness and health, but in the fact that I would have to be training or assisting other people. It sounds selfish, but I just always preferred being the client who was getting the training done on him for a specific sport, and now training other people felt for their sport felt off to me.

I was sitting in one of the classes with no clue of what I was going to do with my life after this program was complete. My professor was telling us about a story of one of his buddies, and in that story he said one sentence that would have me hooked forever. “My friend put in about 1.2 million dollars into Apple stock, and he had a massive return. $400,000 dollars.” When I heard that, my eyes lit up like a kid in a candy story. I was looking around the class in shock, not only because of the return, but shocked that no one else seemed to have the same reaction I did. 5 minutes later I went on the Itunes App Store on my small Iphone 4 and quickly downloaded a stock simulator. I didn’t understand anything about it, but I kinda liked that feeling. I felt challenged. I knew there were people in the world who had mastered this, and I was driven to be one of those people.

After graduation I still didn’t know what I wanted to do. I was interested in the stock market, but my interest faded like a new toy you got for Christmas. I was going to go to university to expand to kinesiology, but i knew I was only going to do it to make my mother happy. My friends knew I wasn’t going to be happy so they advised me not to do it. I was stuck between going the university way with unhappiness, debt, but making my parents happy vs going my own way and being happy but disappointing them. The realization only came after watching this video from Gary Vaynerchuk “https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3pAfb0huJE” .Till this day i thank him for that video because after watching it, I immediately knew that I wasn’t going back to school. I took a year off and decided to let my passions take me to choose what I wanted to do going forward. I love basketball, cars, animals and a list of other things, but I found myself getting more and more interested in the stock market. It felt like such a challenge and I knew then that I was ready to accept that challenge as my future going forward.
